Program Overview
The Miller-Wolf-Phillips Award for Community Impact is supported by three generous donors and honors the late Bertha Wolf. It provides at least six young people ages 18-25 (with a DOB on or after January 1, 2000) an award of at least $7500 each while they work at a nonprofit or community organization in Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties only) during the 2026 calendar year. This award recognizes and seeks to support outstanding individuals who are deeply dedicated to work that is rooted in their community’s needs. Designed to help offset financial need, the award has supported previous recipients with expenses such as childcare, rent, healthcare, student loan payments, or vehicle/transportation-related costs. Community impact should not come at the expense of financial security.
The MWP award is issued by the Liberty Hill Foundation, and the application cycle is administered by VIVA Strategy. Applications are due by Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11:59pm PT (including 2 recommendations).

VIVA conducts eligibility screening of completed applications on a rolling basis.
Selection process takes place. The selection committee will review your application, we'll follow up if we need any more information, and finalists will be chosen.
Awardees announced. Those applicants selected to receive the award will be notified by August 2026.
