The Miller-Wolf-Phillips Award for Community Impact

Davona Watson
2021 MWP Awardee
"This award provided support for my living costs, fresh food, transportation to work, and health services. Receiving this award allowed me to be proactive in my personal life as well as my work life where I support residents across South and East Los Angeles seeking wellness support."
Program Overview
The Miller-Wolf-Phillips Award for Community Impact is supported by three generous donors and honors the late Bertha Wolf. It provides at least six young people ages 18-25 (with a DOB on or after January 1, 2000) an award of at least $7500 each while they work at a nonprofit organization in Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties only) during the 2026 calendar year. This award recognizes and seeks to support outstanding community members in entering the nonprofit workforce while resourcing a living wage. We hope this award supplements income for expenses such as childcare, rent, healthcare, student loan payments, or vehicle/transportation-related costs.
The MWP award is issued by the Liberty Hill Foundation, and the application cycle is administered by VIVA Strategy.
